Prepare before you lose coverage

Enable your preferred recording mode and confirm its permissions while you have a connection. Save places you use regularly and complete any new address searches or route calculations.

Record and review local trips

Trip recording uses the iPhone’s location services and can continue without mobile data. Keep LogMetric running in the background; route quality still depends on the available location signal.

Saved records remain available on the iPhone. You can classify trips, edit notes, select existing tags and review vehicle or odometer records offline. Map backgrounds or resolved address labels may be incomplete without a connection.

Reconnect for address and route tasks

Apple Maps address searches and new driving-route calculations need a connection. This affects adding a missing trip and changing a trip’s endpoints when a new route is required.

Existing saved locations remain available offline. If a search or route request fails, reconnect and try again before saving the change.

Save a report locally

You can generate a PDF or CSV report from local records. Choose Save to Files and an available local folder. Sending it by email or saving to a remote file provider may need a connection.

An exported report is a copy of the selected records, not a restorable LogMetric backup.
